TEXICANA WEDDING PAINTING

High style Texicana wedding with marriachi’s and funky disco painted live in Wichita Falls, Texas by Joan Zylkin The Event Painter.

"I love it!  You have captured everything!  What fun!   The more I look at it, the more I see." ~ Bride's Mom, who is herself a very fine painter.
"Thank you so much for coming all this way to Texas to paint this for us." ~ Bride's father.
This was a Texas wedding in high style on the ranch  with 400 guests, all having a whale of a time with a 13 piece marriachi band, a lounge singer in the 10,000 square foot air conditioned tent, and 2 dj's in a funky disco set up in the barn...  My challenge was to create a composition to capture the rose walkway taken by the bride and groom as they led the marriachi's and guests from the cocktail area by the pool, into dinner in a french country setting with - it seemed to me - every rose in Texas and surrounding states beautifully arranged IN mercury glass vases.  And then to bring in the funky disco with iconic  Warhol images, plus Warhol-esq images of the Bride and Groom, with those staggering high heel lounging chairs.  The bride asked me also to include her dog, Penny.  And if you look closely to the right of the Marilyn image, you will see a stag's head wearing a fiesta garland, and with a cigarette in it's mouth.

Another triumph by Cynthia and Lolly, aka Two Clever Chicks.
